Out now: The Human Hive

Many, many thanks to Bennison Books whose patience and encouragement have been remarkable. This book, under my pen name of John Looker, is the product of two years’ drafting.
Over half the contents are new and even those poems that have appeared on my blog are, at last, given the place planned for them in the overall framework.
Incidentally, thanks also to Terry Ownby, professional photographer, for the cover illustration.

Bennison Books’ is proud to publish The Human Hive by John Looker — our first publication in 2015, and the first to be published under our new Poetic Licence imprint. 7. This book is a treasure, John, and I have enjoyed dipping into its delights since the day it was delivered to my door. A goodly number of the poems are, of course, familiar—I have read them on your blog, more than once, and will return to them, I know. The best fun is finding the ones I hadn’t seen before. You must know I love the Martha poems….so true and so poignant…..especially “Swan Lake.” And then there’s “Night Shift”—a masterpiece, in my view. Thank you for a beautiful collection of poetry.

    • That’s most kind Cynthia and I am relieved that you have liked the book. More than that: I’m ‘dead chuffed’ (to use an English expression from the epoch of the Martha poems). I have discovered also that you have posted a complimentary review on the Amazon site, and I appreciate that very much too. Thank you very much indeed.
